That murky plume in Toronto Harbour isn’t an accident, it’s 9 sewer outfalls plus the Don River. It already struggles to flush. A new report shows a Billy Bishop runway expansion would cut harbour flow in half. Time for a public summit on this waterfront. https://t.co/3iQSkFSP5J
Pearson served 47 million passengers in 2025. Toronto Island Airport: 1.7 million. Pearson has plans to serve 60 million. Does Toronto Island Airport need to become massive and wreck all this? #NoJetsTO#cdnpoli
@NoJetsTO It's so hopeful, seeing expressions of concern broaden across the Lakeshore, from the Beaches, where residents raising concerns about health impacts from pollution to Mimico where the Residents Association hosted a Town Hall yesterday evening.
@patriciaorpat@judyrebick Hi Patricia - can you send us an email at [email protected]? There have been so many requests, it’s possible yours may have been lost in the shuffle! (and if so, our apologies!)
We love seeing #NoJetsTO signs popping up all over the city! 🙌
Together, we’re showing the federal government — and its Toronto MPs — that Toronto says NO to jets at the Island Airport.

South Mississauga! Will the Billy Bishop runway expansion impact us? ✈️ Learn more at our July 14 meeting with NoJetsTO speaking. 7 pm Credit Room, PC arena, 40 Stavebank Rd N. All welcome. Ask questions. See flight path. Refreshments. @DaskoWard1@LRA_Mississauga@NoJetsTO
@ScottBu27677428@NoJetsTO Neither we nor our friends at #NoJetsTO are saying close #BillyBishop. Like it or not, those you call squatters have legally binding long-term leases. They'd have to be expropriated for millions. Law is funny that way. But jet expansion a la Ford would make the park unusable.
@rtd8450 Smaller jets may be comparable to turboprops in noise, but hundreds of daily takeoffs and landings on our waterfront would hardly make for a "quieter" airport. They also burn more fuel per passenger than turboprops on short routes — meaning more emissions & more air pollution.
Hundreds of jets roaring over Toronto's waterfront. Every. Single. Day.
That’s the plan for the Island Airport if the proposed expansion goes ahead. More noise, pollution, traffic & the end of the waterfront as we know it.

@TDotMason@CanadaGray The problem is that those numbers aren't economic projections - they're political talking points. No evidence has been put forward to support them. The idea of expanding was announced months ago - if there was a strong business case for it, we would have seen it already.
✈️ Think Premier Ford controls whether jets come to the Island Airport? Think again.
As @canadagray points out, that decision belongs to the federal government — and its Toronto MPs.

Spent my Canada Day on our beautiful Toronto islands. Biked from Hanlan's Point to Ward Island (with a few water and iced coffee breaks along the way).
We have to protect this place.

Finally a no BS response from a Liberal. @LFairclo leads the way rejecting plans to fill in our lake and clog traffic plagued streets more #billybishop expansion plan prompts mixed responses from Liberal leadership candidates https://t.co/QK2krwKO0p via @torontostar
@MarkJCarney and Toronto MPs might want to look at the new polls. Toronto residents don't want a destructive expansion of Toronto Island Airport https://t.co/iHLpaeHOdP #NoJetsTO#Cdnpoli
