While there are plenty of perspectives on what happened today, especially those criticizing the actions of the administration as getting us into another "forever war," I have been consuming Venezuelan media for the past 2 hours.
They are ecstatic, deeply grateful, and thankful for Maduro finally being out.
There are probably more perspectives from Venezuelan people that were against this, but it is quite incredible to see millions of people waking up this morning thinking they have a chance and that there will be a new form of life without dictatorship and a focus on individualism.
Now, we will we actually see a new regime? Or will we get a power vacuum that ends up making things worse? Was this only for oil? Is this just to make America stronger?
No one knows, but I try to keep my political opinion as an American as tailored to the side of the people actually being affected by this and it seems like those people wanted this.
If so, there may be an entirely new world that Venezuelans will be entering, a world with significantly more freedoms than what existed with Maduro.
