I’ve been watching StonkFun since the very beginning.

When I first arrived, I remember seeing only two or three other coins besides STONK. Since then, I’ve kept coming back, studying new launches and trying to understand which ideas people actually connect with. I’ve even tried a couple of experiments myself. Some didn’t work. That’s part of learning.

Watching what @LaunchOnSF has built since those early days has been remarkable.

ZCAT brought the ZEC connection into the spotlight. BUTT is doing the same with TAO. These communities have introduced people to a model where activity around a meme can fund distributions in another asset.

I understand why someone returning after a difficult bear market might be skeptical. Crypto has given people plenty of reasons to ask questions. A reward mechanism deserves an explanation people can check: where the funds come from, who qualifies, and what actually reaches wallets.

In StonkFun’s reward model, transfer fees fund distributions to eligible holders in the paired asset. The amounts depend on activity, eligible balances and costs. Receiving ZEC, TAO or ARB gives people something concrete to examine.

And NOLA — @nolarbfun — is the project I’m particularly excited about now.

NOLA is StonkFun’s first ARB-paired token: an Arbitrum-inspired cat with ARB-denominated holder rewards. The token itself is on Solana. The community is independent of Arbitrum.

At my 7 September check, ZCAT had already reached nine-figure market-cap territory, and BUTT had recorded an eight-figure valuation. NOLA was still around $94,000.

That contrast caught my attention. NOLA still has to earn its own audience and build its own story, but the ARB connection is something I think deserves a closer look.

There is already a distribution history to examine. At 08:26 UTC on 7 September, StonkFun reported 40,445.63 ARB distributed through 3,240 cumulative payouts for NOLA. That is a payout count, not 3,240 different people or a guaranteed future earning rate.

Arbitrum gives this story a wider context. Its Ethereum scaling ecosystem supports DeFi applications, developers and dedicated blockchain networks. I’m interested in the possibility that a memorable character can introduce another audience to that ecosystem and give people a reason to explore it.

My thesis is that culture can create discovery, and discovery can grow into participation. NOLA’s challenge is to turn that first moment of curiosity into a community people want to stay in.

If ARB appreciates, ARB rewards someone has retained can also increase in dollar value. They can lose value when ARB falls. The overall result still depends on NOLA’s price and the costs involved.

For transparency, I’m actively helping build NOLA’s community presence, including its website and X account. I’m putting time into it because I want to see what this can become.

I’m excited about the next chapter for StonkFun, for BUTT, and for this little Arbitrum cat. NOLA’s website and X account are a starting point. I want to keep improving them, bring people together, and build things the community has a reason to care about.
