We lost a great man who loved New Orleans with his whole heart when we lost Mookie Square. He bore witness to and captured the true culture and essence of our city. A beloved son and friend, we will carry on his spirit and legacy.
I'm no longer looking for voices who state the obvious: #TrumpIsRacist. I'm looking at institutional silence. Too many stand in silence and complicity as a President abuses the office with weapons of bigotry and invidiousness. We must rally around our motto: E pluribus unum
What is as offensive and racist as the words of the President was the silence of the Senators in the the room who said NOTHING in response. Paul Ryan, racism is not “unfortunate”. This complicity is vile and dangerous.
