“Pregnancy brain, leave me alone-“ she waves her hand with a grin.

“I’ll help you,” she waddles to the kitchen, finding different things around.

“I need carbs,” she laughs.

“you said the same thing i did.” he laughed, brows furrowing as he did so. he shrugged.

“i dunno. i’ll find something to cook.” he went looking through the cupboards to find something to cook.

She felt the pains subsiding and knew she was in the clear for a few minutes at least.

They were telling her just to hang tight, she wasn’t fully dilated yet, so she was laying back.

“We need to pick a name,” she’s breathing evenly.

“i love you too.” he murmured, staying beside her as he listened to the doctor try to soothe best he could while doing his job.

he was sitting in a chair next to her.

She nods, tears now rolling down her cheeks.

“I love you,” she murmurs, before another contraction causes a groan to fall from her lips.

“i wouldn’t even consider it.” he muttered, looking at her before glancing at the doctor.

“everything will be fine.” he murmured, nodding as he focused back on the brunette witch. “just breathe.”

She rolls her eyes, “and yet I chose you-“ she teases, holding her ring finger up to show off the ring.

“I’m starving, what’re we gonna cook?” She waddles over to the kitchen with him.

“don’t get me confused with your ex now. he was the ass.” he murmured, head tilting with a shrug.

“are you hungry? i’m starving and bored, i want to cook.” he stood, moving to the kitchen.

She felt tears sting her eyes, overwhelmed with emotions and counteracting with pain.

“I—okay,” she nods. “I’ll try—please just don’t leave,” she squeezes his hand again, her breath evening out a little.

“you’ll be okay, just remember our baby boy will be here soon.” he murmured, her hand squeezing only feeling like pressure due to his abilities.

“breathe with me, okay?” he began a breathing technique.

She swats his arm with a faux huff, hiding the smile that was biting through her lips.

“Don’t be an ass-“ she laughs, shaking her head. “But I am glad for you,” she kisses his cheek with a soft grin.

“i’m glad i could show you a life with someone your age. didn’t need someone a thousand years old.” he held in a snort, shaking his head.

“i’m much better anyways.” he grinned.

She squeezes the living daylight from his hand and tries to just concentrate on her breathing.

“Okay—it’ll be okay—“ she winces through another contraction as she lays back in the bed, feeling herself breathing heavily.

“everything will be okay.” he dipped his head into a nod as the nurse began to speak. he let them talk.

he stayed next to her, holding her hand as he assured her things will be okay.

“I like it—how far we’ve come—I didn’t know what was missing from my life until I met you,” she smiles softly.

“you better.” he chuckled, head shaking as he let out a sigh. he glanced at her.

“we’ve come a long way.” he murmured, thinking back to when they had first met. in new orleans.

“Mmmm yeah, you’re right,” she leans to peck his lips softly. “I love you a lot a lot,” she rubs her belly with a grin.

“i love you too.” he grinned. “duh,” he spoke, lifting his left hand which adorned a ring.

She grips his hand and tries to remember to keep breathing as they wheel her to a room.

Shes quickly changing to a gown, easing into bed. “Babe—“ she squeezes his hand through another contraction again. “I’m scared,” she sniffles.

“you can. don’t even think that, alright? you’re strong and you can do this. just think of the beautiful baby boy who���ll be here soon.” he smiled, nodding.

he pulled up to the hospital, helping her out of the car, walking inside.

She was trying to breathe—practicing what the classes had taught her.

“Ahhh—!” She clutches the handle of the car as he drives. “I don’t—what if I can’t do this?” She shakes her head, the pain and the nerves getting to her.

“I don’t know if I can-“ she sniffles, tears rolling.

he moved around the house, grabbing bags and placing them into the car. he then walked back in.

“come on,” he helped her outside before calling his sister, getting into the car.

She sniffles—damn hormones.

“Okay,” she nods quietly, hugging him tighter. “I love you, you know?” She settles into his chest, she couldn’t imagine doing this without him.

“I don’t know—maybe we should start timing—ahhh-“ she clutches again.

“Maybe get the bags-“ she closes her eyes to try and ignore the pain—but it was definitely not something able to be ignored. “Call Elena?” She asks, sucking in a harsh breath.

sitting up, he moved closer to her, brows furrowed together as he glanced over at her.

“do we need to go?” he questioned, as in, go to the hospital. he was already standing, helping her.

She sighs, “I really get worried for you, you know?” She mumbles, hugging him with a sniffle.

“Especially with the baby coming,” she murmurs against his chest.

“there was only one major vampire around that shouldn’t have been. i dealt with it and everything’s been .. quiet since.” he murmured.

“i’m okay, d.” he smiled towards her.

“I’ll help you with that, we can make a little basket or something,” she grins.

“You feeling better about—hunting lately?” She asks, worriedly, she was always worried.

“i hope so. i’ll get her some perfume or something too. something i know she’ll like,” he murmured quietly.

“Thank you—ah-!” She clutches her stomach, wincing slightly.

“Oh gosh —might not be that long of a wait—“ she tries standing, feeling what she thinks might be a contraction.

“just tell me when and i’ll drive you to the hospital.” he nodded slowly, moving to grab her slippers, handing them to her.

“Could you get me my slippers please?” She pouts up at him.
