@Sam73616329@kanon06 They arnt “fake” you just have to frame the methodology and reasoning. Women mobile gamers spend more on average. The AAA studios are desperate to convert these potential customers. That starts with helping them identify as a gamer.
@spooonbender@kanon06 Oh I agree for the most part. My wife and daughter both game, especially my daughter. But there has been a real concentrated effort to court the casual female gamer, almost to the point of alienating the male audience. It just sucks.
@mrhardcoremode This is so dumb, like I agree with you mostly, aa or aaa gaming is like 80% male, and the studios attempt to court the women demographic has been bad. But there is no reason to be so mean about it. Even if some people are misrepresenting statistics.
@Swurv__ Gaming 🤷♂️ when it comes to aa, and aaa games, it’s primarily a male hobby, but my wife loves cozy games, and my daughter plays all the games.
@kanon06 If you are citing The ESA report, they defined an active gamer as anyone playing video games for at least one hour per week via console, PC/laptop, tablet, mobile, or VR. I’ve not found a single study that supports your statement.
