I disagree.

I won’t support his movement ever, but looking at everything he’s doing:

- his party seems potent enough to attract all the “maattram virumbis” who may want to move out of TVK or other parties, but still don’t want to end up in DMK/ADMK.
- he appears to be building the training ground first instead of jumping straight into the sea with a massive army. Preparation can always beat a fan club that has no clear action plan. (Typical rss style move ideological think tan org paired with a political party)
- he has consciously chosen “intellectualism” as the party’s primary theme by talking about bringing technocrats into the system. That could attract a section of apolitical, educated voters and even NRIs.

Challenge lies for DMK ahead is to retain its 2Crore voterbase including those who have swung.

But don’t you guys feel this could end up eroding whatever little chance BJP still has left in Tamil Nadu for at least the next 15 years?

Not sure what made them take such a drastic route through this surrogate startup.
