@DrJoelGator Someone explain to me why as a customer I am obligated to subsidize a restaurant owner’s expenses with my tip? No other business has that option!
Elon Musk and Javier Milei repost me here regularly. This time both at once👇🏻
The most powerful man in our civilization and the freedom President of Argentina – and beyond them, from Europe, no one. From Poland, silence.
Not one other official.
Tens of thousands of ordinary readers reposting, recognition from fellow libertarians, millions of views – and not one European "leader" says a word. In Poland everyone pretends not to see.
So let’s think about what that tells us.
Musk and Milei repost because they recognize the argument. Because they think in these categories, because these ideas are alive and real to them. Truth attracts them – it’s an honest, natural reflex to them.
The two of them and nobody else. That’s not an accident. There is nobody else but them.
European and Polish "leaders" stay silent for the same reason: they recognize the argument too. And they know it’s dangerous – to them.
They see it perfectly well. These people have media monitoring teams; a significant ideological repost from Musk is not something that slips past. Gramsci, Spinelli, the long march through the institutions, the systemic lie – these are not abstractions to them. It’s the air they breathe. The water they swim in. The system that produced them, selected them, gave them their positions.
They aren’t silent out of ignorance. They’re silent out of interest.
The systemic lie is not an absence of knowledge. It’s knowledge combined with a choice to say nothing.
And the calculation is simple. Publicly agreeing with a piece about Gramsci gains you nothing and can cost you everything – invitations, positions, editorial goodwill, peace. Silence is free. That’s the premium on hypocrisy I’ve been describing for months, this time visible on our own example.
It’s also the navigator test. Musk and Milei share one trait: they don’t have to check the room. Everyone else does – which is why everyone else is quiet. They don’t lack intelligence. They lack independence, and without it courage is technically impossible.
A class that cannot publicly agree with a text it privately agrees with is not an elite. It’s an układ (a clique – a mafia sort of arrangement). An elite speaks. An układ waits until it’s safe.
In Poland it’s simpler still. Foreign recognition for someone outside the układ is a problem, not a source of pride – it undermines the hierarchy in which they are the ones who dispense recognition.
But there’s good news here, and it’s serious. Millions of ordinary readers and the two most influential freedom voices in the world – that is the second circulation. That’s what it always looked like: no official names, no blessing from the salon, just readers nobody had to invite.
They’ll come eventually. They always do – at precisely the moment agreement stops costing anything.
And then we’ll remember who was here first.
Democracy is the system where two wolves and a sheep vote on lunch, and the sheep thinks it's freedom.
Hans-Hermann Hoppe laid out the structural problem in 2001: democratic governments systematically discount the future. A politician holding office for four years has every incentive to plunder tomorrow to buy votes today. He does not own the country; he merely manages it temporarily. So he runs deficits, inflates the currency, and expands the bureaucracy. The costs land on you after he has left office with a pension and the loot he accumulated while in office.
Compare the U.S. federal debt in 1971 (roughly $400 billion) to $40 trillion in 2026. Every number in between represents a democratic decision. Voters consistently elected politicians who promised benefits today and deferred pain indefinitely. The system operates exactly as designed.
But there is an even deeper problem. No central body, elected or otherwise, possesses the dispersed knowledge required to price goods, allocate capital, or determine what millions of individuals genuinely value. Ludwig von Mises wrote about this in 1920: without market prices, socialist calculation collapses into guesswork. Democratic majorities voting on economic outcomes share this same fatal defect. Fifty-one percent of voters endorsing rent control does not repeal the supply curve.
What you get, generation after generation, is an expanding state bidding for voter loyalty through programs that misallocate capital, suppress production, and transfer wealth from future savers to present consumers. The welfare state, the regulatory apparatus, the fiat money machine: all democratically mandated, all economically destructive.
The ballot box never contained a mechanism for discovering truth. It only counts preferences.
@karolineleavitt You are an incredible press secretary!! Thank you for the amazing job you have done and I am sure you will continue to play an important role as an advisor to the President! Enjoy your time with your little ones, you will not regret that move!
.@AFergusonFTC: All of these benefit programs were designed for a high-trust society. Our society has disintegrated from the high-trust society that it has been, and the only way that we can restore that high trust is to ensure that the money goes to people who actually need it—and if you get money fraudulently, you go to jail.
