A new study by Kapwing found that AI-generated content now makes up a large portion of social media feeds.

>Researchers found that nearly 60% of videos recommended to new TikTok accounts were “AI slop.”

>On YouTube Shorts, AI content made up around 21% of recommended videos.

The study analyzed over 10,000 TikTok videos across 20 categories. Kids’ content had the highest proportion of AI-slop videos, while categories like fitness and fashion had far less because they rely more on real people.

This project is part of a bigger long-term partnership where the companies want to grow popular Japanese game brands around the world
