@onemouse International comparisons are pretty fraught, because so many cultural and socio-eco factors. It makes sense, though, that where individualised teacher interaction becomes scarce, demand for private individual tuition/interaction would grow...

@nommokaiako In physics there is no way to measure a system without interacting and interfering with it in some way. It's hard to notice on a large scale, but for small systems it makes a big difference. I guess the same is true for our kids.

There are no "standard" learners and our drive to transactionally measure educational achievement often causes us to lose sight of the learner as a person.

We sometimes forget that the very act of measuring has an impact on our learner's self-efficacy/esteem...
