Tonight, with courage, @AOC shared her terror during the insurrectionist assault on democracy. It could have been a bloodbath. This isn’t about political differences. It’s about humanity and justice. Those saying “move on” are complicit in condoning & abetting domestic terrorism
New rule: If you brought us to this point by peddling The Big Lie, you don’t get to preach about “healing” and “unity.”
Healing and unity always require truth and accountability.
Based on a lot of tweets I’m seeing, it seems like a *lot* of people have no idea whatsoever that House Democrats passed a *$3 Trillion* bill back in May.
It included $1200 checks for each adult and each dependent in a household up to 3. ($4800 for a family of four)
The Sackler family withdrew $10 billion from Purdue Pharma—the (now bankrupt) company responsible for the opioid crisis—leaving limited funds available for families who lost loved ones. As a bankruptcy lawyer, I know a fraudulent transfer when I see one, so I called them out 👇
Just a reminder that when the Right is out of power they stress "fiscal conservatism" and obsess over any perceived breach of polite decorum.
They ran up massive deficits and engaged in brutal, profane fascistic rhetoric. Stop giving any of this hypocritical nonsense air.
Still, there are many who, as my father phrased it, are “more devoted to order than to justice”...who are more passionate about profanity than they would dare be about police brutality and poverty. That’s evidence of desire for negative peace, which is unconcerned about justice.
When we use social services, we’re not taking a handout. We’re just using services we already paid for with our own taxes.
If we want to talk about handouts, let’s talk about the tax breaks given to billionaires. Those are handouts.
It must really be something for Republicans and Fox News to realize with chilling clarity that they have been so successful at radicalizing their base that their base is now moving beyond them in a desperate search of further radicalization.
“In the country’s largest majority-Black city, this movement should not be met with city leaders’ efforts to suppress anyone’s First Amendment rights.”
An op-ed by @RashidaTlaib calling for Detroit City leaders to stop demonizing movements for justice.

🚨 Gerrymandering Alert 🚨
Kansas Senate President Susan Wagle (R) told donors that Republicans must maintain their #ksleg supermajority so they can create gerrymandered state & federal districts to undermine the will of voters & ensure complete Republican control of the state.
