he whole personal self only arises in mind as concept. It's only thoughts. The spiritual seeker is the mind trying to arrive at Awareness, but it can't because it can't experience anything. If all of a sudden you had amnesia, if your complete back story was gone, what remains?
LOOKING AT TIME
Is it possible to leave 'now' and go back into the past?
Is it possible to leave 'now' and visit the future?
Does this 'now' have a direction?
Is it moving towards the future? Is that your Direct Experience? When is it not 'now'?
What is the experience of 'just this'? Can you label it or use any words to describe it? As soon as we give it one label, it requires other labels and descriptions. More to the point, can you deny 'just this'?

Is it possible to leave 'now' and go back into the past? Is it possible to leave 'now' and visit the future? Does this 'now' have a direction? Is it moving towards the future? Is that your Direct Experience? When is it not 'now'? Come back to your Direct Experience.
Life just happens. If you don't believe that, ask yourself how many people you know who are leading the ideal life? If we're the doers, our lives should be ideal. So it's important to check out the idea of free will. Functioning just flows, yet there's no 'me' doing anything.
There is just One. Not two. One is complete. It lacks nothing. It's everywhere and nowhere. Two can't experience one. If you were to say, "I'm experiencing one" by definition, there are two there. One is the absence of duality.

"I Am." Full stop. We're so busy being conscious 'of', that we don't notice the awareness itself. As long as we're engrossed in mind and thoughts, we're unaware of being aware. THIS that is aware of the mind cannot possibly be a 'me'.
It's still mind trying to find something; that's it's nature.
You don't have to change that. It's just the recognition of that. The seeker is in the mind. There's not a me and an ego. It's one and the same thing. And simplified, all it is is thoughts. And that's all!
- Terrence
Ask yourself, "Am I alive? Am I experiencing Being?" Isn't Being what you're actually experiencing right here, right now? Isn't that what you're looking for? But we take this Being to be the 'me'. Where do you want to live? In the nightmare of the 'me' or as pure Being?
Let's have a look at this idea of a me and challenge it - Am I the 'doer' in charge of the body? Am I in control of the thoughts? Do I have freewill? Is there really a personal self, a 'me'?
- Terrence
Direct Experience is whole; complete. No duality is experienced there; none. Duality only arises in mind. Why? Because that's just how the mind functions. There's nothing wrong with that. An imagined world gets created. There's a massive dream going on.
- Terrence
The problem is the 'mind'. But, ironically, the 'mind' is only a problem for the 'mind'. It isn't MY problem. The 'mind' is a primary addiction for the 'me' because it's the only tool it knows to use. It can't put it down.
- Terrence
The mind (thoughts) believe it knows what awareness or consciousness or beingness is. It can't know as it can't experience anything. Yet in the absence of mind You Are. Your direct experience is being, knowing, awareness-and it can only be found in the absence of mind.
- Terrence
That that we're looking for is this Presence Awareness; this Beingness. The irony of that is you're already experiencing That. And when 'me' says "I'm experiencing that", That is not experienced. What's experienced is the concept of This. This Absolute Hereness is what we miss.
We make the mistake of believing that the feeling of ‘me’ or the sensations associated with the ‘me’ have to go. We think we have to kill this ‘me’. What really has to go is the thinking around the ‘me’.
The 'me' is the mind which is nothing but thoughts and feelings.
Do you need a mind to know you're conscious? To know that you are? The mind keeps throwing stuff up and 'me' gets attracted to that stuff. But the mind is a veil covering who you actually are. Life is happening right here. And what's happening can be seen. It CAN be seen
Whatever is going on in your head, just stop and pause for a moment, wherever you are and look around. Where you are, where you live, where life is being experienced, is always right here, right now. Pause! Look Around! You'll find everything's okay.
Where is it not okay?
