Hvem er smartest?

Polen er det europeiske landet som kjøper mest gull ifølge Din Bedrift (1). De har i tillegg etablert seg helt i verdenstoppen i global sammenheng.

Årsaken til at verdens banker nå kjøper gull med begge hender er en mer urolig verdenssituasjon, økende statsgjeld, fare for inflasjon, geopolitisk rivalisering og et ønske om dollaruavhengighet.

Med gull i hvelvet kan man klare seg gjennom krig og alvorlige kriser. Gjennom alle tider har det vært gull som egentlig er penger, mens de gjeldsbaserte fiatpengene vi har i dag kan bli verdiløse på kort tid.

ARMAGEDDON

16. september skrev Finansavisen dette:

Det er ikke så rart at man tenker sånn. Den amerikanske statsgjelden på 40 billioner dollar vokser eksponensielt. Nå vokser den med 2-3 billioner dollar i året (ca. et amerikansk forsvarsbudsjett). Om en tid vil den vokse med 2-3 billioner pr. måned, deretter pr. uke osv.

Når Olsen sår tvil om investorene vil ha tillit til de amerikanske statspapirene i framtiden er det denne gjelden han snakker om. Vil investorene kjøpe amerikansk statsgjeld uten å ta en formidabel rente som risikopremie – som ytterligere øker USAs rentebelastning?

De kan inflatere den bort. Altså å bare trykke enda mer dollar slik at gjelden blir verdiløs. Men da blir sannsynligvis også dollaren verdiløs. Det er dette de gjør i dag.

Da forstår vi hvorfor sentralbankene i hele verden kjøper gull: det blir ikke spisst opp av inflasjonen som konstrueres med pengetrykking i skrivende stund, og i tillegg står edelmetallet seg mot "ragnarok" som Øystein Olsen nå advarer mot.

Senest i august advarte vår sittende sentralbanksjef Nicolai Tangen om dette:

"– Hovedpremisset er at det i historien ikke finnes noen stor nasjonal formue som har vart, nesten ikke private heller. Hvorfor skal den store norske formuen være den første i verden som skal vare, er spørsmålet vi har stilt oss – og som vi utfordrer i dag, sier Tangen." (3)

Poenget er at det er urealistisk å tro at det norske oljefondet skal bestå, beholde sin verdi, eller være i norsk eie i all framtid.

Man klarte å rappe Russlands verdipapirer, men ikke gullet deres. Av det lærer vi at noen sifre på en datamaskin kan endres lettere enn gull i et hvelv.

ANDERLEDESLANDET

Den geniale Epstein-klassen i Norge – den såkalte "eliten" – med utspring fra Arbeiderpartiet og Høyre, har en helt annen plan med "kveget" hvis alt går på tverke i verdensøkonomien og geopolitikken.

Norge er nesten det eneste utviklede landet i verden som ikke eier et eneste gram monetært gull.

Fondet er noen sifre som kan rappes med noen tastetrykk hvis USA eller EU blir desperate nok – og det er sannsynligvis bare et tidsspørsmål før de blir det. Og sentralbanksjefen går langt i å si at det historisk sett er urealistisk at vi får beholde det.

Den forrige sentralbanken venter på ragnarok.

Men vi gjør ikke det åpenbare – for vi er annerledes.

Mens det er stille før stormen, sender vi 1,6 milliarder kroner til Polen for å satse på grønn omstilling der, mens Polen selv bruker pengene sine på å kjøpe gull.

Dette til tross for at de andre kontinentene for lengst har forstått at den grønne omstillingen er noe korrupte finansakrobater holder på med for å stikke sugerørene i statskassene, og at den store krisen nå er grønt-skifte-assosiert energimangel med påfølgende industrinedlegging og global sultkatastrofe.

Epstein-klassen er ikke som andre klasser.

De skiller seg ut.

Mest fordi den tar så mange absurde avgjørelser som ikke ser ut til å tjene "kveget", men noen helt andre.

Europe's central banks were not built to protect you, they were built to finance wars.

The Bank of England launched in 1694 with a single purpose: lend William III 1.2 million pounds to fight Louis XIV, and collect interest in perpetuity. Parliament handed a private cartel a monopoly on note issuance. In exchange, the Crown got its war. Depositors got paper promises. The model spread like an infection.

France watched and replicated. John Law established the Banque Générale in 1716, eventually converting it into the Banque Royale, which he used to flood France with paper livres backed by nothing but colonial fantasies about Louisiana. By 1720 the whole scheme collapsed, wiping out French savers across two generations and poisoning French confidence in paper money for over a century.

The lesson Europe drew was not "stop doing this." The lesson was "do it more carefully."

Germany formed the Reichsbank in 1876, Sweden had its Riksbank from 1668 (the world's oldest, and a blueprint every subsequent government copied). Each institution followed the same logic: centralize control, monopolize issuance, and give the state a captive lender when revenue from taxation proves politically inconvenient.

Ludwig von Mises explained that inflation functions as a tax. Every unit of currency created without corresponding production transfers purchasing power from your savings to whoever spends the new money first, which is always the government. That process accelerated dramatically after World War One, when the gold standard's constraints became inconvenient for states that had already promised their citizens more than they could honestly deliver.

The Weimar hyperinflation from 1921 to 1923 is the obvious horror story, but the quieter theft across the rest of Europe through the 1920s and 1930s cost savers just as much over time, simply spread across more years. Gradual expropriation carries less drama and less political resistance.

Every European central bank operating today, including the European Central Bank created in 1998, runs on this same foundational logic: the sovereign needs money, the bank provides it, and you absorb the cost through prices that never quite return to where they were.
