You really have to put yourself on a certain pedestal. Like yes, you're better than that, you're bigger than that, you can't associate yourself with that, you can't even entertain that.
My therapist told me that
"There's a theory that depression is sometimes the soul's way of rejecting the life you're forcing yourself to live. It's not failure it's misalignment. Your spirit shuts down when you're too far from your purpose, people, or path." And then it all made sense.
The older I get, the more I understand why people disappear into gardening baking, reading, and long walks. Not because life got boring. Because peace became valuable.
My therapist once told me: Imagine being bitten by a snake and, instead of treating the bite, you waste time chasing the snake to understand why it bit you and prove you didn't deserve it.
