@lkeshre Why is the portfolio turnover .99? That's extremely high for a market cap weighted index fund and can lead to high invisible trading costs within the fund. For reference Motilal Oswal NIFTY 500 fund has turnover of only .16 and this is in line with most funds of this type
@investingidiocy Gotcha. Any suggestions on how I can tweak the Sharpe ratio/GM portfolios if I wanted to generate an income or living wage- I can definitely take more risks and have more earnings potential than your "cautious" investor. Yields, Money mkt funds, worst case- liquidate assets?
@investingidiocy I've just completed reading through smart portfolios and am gearing up to make my portfolio allocations. Your annual reports always have a 6month cash buffer- does this come from dividend yield? Do you sometimes have to liquidate your holdings to get an "income"
@investingidiocy This is a slightly dated example of what could be possible with jupyter-based books, but I found this approach pretty helpful when I was learning MCMC

@investingidiocy for a new book, would you consider using Jupyterbook or similar tools for publishing the ebook? It would be great to play with the code used to generate the numerous tables and figures, in a more seamless way than referring to the appendix
@investingidiocy Ahh that's too bad. I see what you're saying though if your main goal is to high quality physical book. Tbh I have no idea how the typesetting is when converted to pdf or physical book equivalents since I've only read/worked through the e-versions of these things.
I'm working through Smart Portfolios and it's been great for someone without a finance background! Covers a lot of ground without getting bogged down by details. And the assumptions are made obvious too, instead of being stuffed under the rug
Despite the infinite space of exploration, we're starting to get a sense of what AI generated images look like. What's beyond that? What is it that our combined imaginations have yet to imagine?
