Many listeners don’t realize this.

Even if you pay for Spotify Premium and spend an entire month listening only to one artist, that subscription fee is not sent mostly to that artist.

Instead, it goes into a large revenue pool and is distributed based on the platform’s overall streaming share—not just what you listened to.

So when people say, “I’m supporting you by streaming your music,” we truly appreciate it. ❤️

But if your goal is to directly support an artist, attending live shows, buying albums or merchandise, and other forms of direct support often have a much greater impact.

This applies to SHAZNA, to my band, and to countless artists around the world.

I think more music fans should know how the current streaming model works.
