UCI published some new rules today

From 1/7/2026
- Belarusian athletes are back in the competition with their flag and anthem
- WU Races are reserved exclusively for riders of the WU category
- 23 teams confirmed in Grand Tours of 2026-28 cycle
- In WJ Races a maximum of two riders registered with a club team may participate in the same event as members of their respective National Team
- The UCI event safety manager now shall ensure that the safety requirements are observed.
- The finishing straight should be as long as possible, at least 200 meters (it was a guideline, now it's a rule)
- The maximum dimensions of any radio unit or other remote communication devices (excluding headphone accessories) carried by or with riders may not exceed 150 x 60 x 35 mm*
- Pockets on the jersey must be located exclusively on the back. Pockets on the front can be only for a radio device*
- Fax is no longer a mandatory mean of transmission for press during races
- Feeding riders from team cars in feed zones signposted by the organiser is forbidden.
- Organizers must report results to UCI using email and not fax (yes, the whole rule mentioned fax)
- For the thing marked as * the fine will be 200 CHF and -20 pts in UCI ranking or relegation of 1 place in a one-day race and 200 fine and either 20 points from UCI ranking, 10 seconds penalty or relegation of 1 place in the classification of the stage concerned in stage races

From 1/9/2026
- UCI introduces the Road Junior Nations Cup. It consists of a series of one-day or stage race qualification events as well as a final called "Grand Final". It will replace Men and Women Junior Nations Cup in a single ranking

From 1/1/2027
- Yellow cards can be assessed also in Class 1 races
- The safety manager is responsible for assessing the race security

ΤΙ ΔΕΙΧΝΟΥΝ 150 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΔΕΔΟΜΕΝΩΝ ΓΙΑ ΤΙΣ ΒΡΟΧΕΣ ΣΤΗ ΜΕΣΟΓΕΙΟ-ΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΟΝΙΚΗ ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΣΤΟ NATURE.
✅Εκτεταμένη διεθνής επιστημονική μελέτη εξέτασε την εξέλιξη των βροχοπτώσεων στη Μεσόγειο από το 1871 έως το 2020, χρησιμοποιώντας το μεγαλύτερο έως σήμερα σύνολο παρατηρησιακών δεδομένων για την περιοχή. Η ανάλυση βασίστηκε σε περισσότερους από 23.000 μετεωρολογικούς σταθμούς σε 27 χώρες και σε εκατοντάδες εκατομμύρια ημερήσιες μετρήσεις βροχής.
✅Τα αποτελέσ��ατα δείχνουν ότι, σε μακροχρόνια κλίμακα, οι βροχοπτώσεις στη Μεσόγειο παρουσιάζουν κυρίως σταθερή συμπεριφορά, με έντονη όμως διαχρονική και χωρική μεταβλητότητα. Παρότι σε ορισμένες περιόδους ή περιοχές εμφανίζονται τάσεις αύξησης ή μείωσης, η πλειονότητα των σταθμών δεν παρουσιάζει στατιστικά σημαντικές μεταβολές. Οι διακυμάνσεις αποδίδονται κυρίως στη φυσική μεταβλητότητα της ατμοσφαιρικής κυκλοφορίας, ιδιαίτερα σε δείκτες όπως η Βορειοατλαντική Ταλάντωση (NAO) και η Μεσογειακή Ταλάντωση (MO).
✅Η σύγκριση των παρατηρήσεων με κλιματικά μοντέλα (CMIP5 και CMIP6) δείχνει ότι και τα μοντέλα δεν υποδεικνύουν σαφή ιστορική τάση μείωσης των βροχών. Ωστόσο, η περιοχή εμφανίζει αυξανόμενη κλιματική ξηρότητα, κυρίως λόγω της ανόδου της θερμοκρασίας και της αυξημένης εξατμισοδιαπνοής.
✅Η μελέτη τονίζει τη σημασία της διατήρησης τ��ν μετεωρολογικών δικτύων παρατήρησης και της αξιοποίησης εκτεταμένων ιστορικών δεδομένων για την κατανόηση των κλιματικών μεταβολών στη Μεσόγειο.
