@fibonaughti@C_3C_3 Hello there! I'm the author of The Synner Saga. If you'd like to know more about the series I've written, I'd be more than happy to explain a bit about it. I've also just finished writing The Synner: Cry of the Voiceless (Book 5) of the series, and am already working on book 6.
Final Part of Volume 1 releases this Wednesday on Tapas! You can read all available chapters at the link below. Season 2 / Volume 2 will kick off on October 9th, 2024. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it!!! https://t.co/oNvau4vPz8
@JosephSwan68860 That's true, however, I'm talking about in like a specific scene. I could loosely describe a room, or I could add in a LOT of details. I'm just asking which one people prefer โบ๏ธ
Do you prefer a lot of details when reading the description of a room/environment, or do you prefer fewer details with room for your mind to build it's own version? #writing#AuthorsOfTwitter
@onmytitswhaaaat Yeah, so I've actually felt that a lot, myself - where I just gloss over things and details. So, while some instances I'll add more descriptors, for the most part, I want the reader to imagine it in their head, with me just kind of giving them mental handrails ๐ฅน
@onmytitswhaaaat Thank you!!!! Well, it also boils down to whether it's the first time I've described anything like it or not. If I feel it's been too long, I'll add in a few more details just in case ๐ฅน
@toweypat But what about in settings where you can give someone two or three pieces of information quickly. I.e. a study with books and scrolls strewn about the room, with a single candle as it's light source. Is that too little?
@falselygod That's understandable. Setting the tone and mood of the environment through lighting and other such sensory identifiers is a decent route to take. Thanks!
@salander688 See, that's how I feel. Sometimes it's good to have a larger amount of details, but not all the time. I feel it's like a weird balance you have to manage, especially when talking about things you've mentioned before, or entirely new things.
Writing Chapter 37... it's gonna be a long one, but I really hope you'll all enjoy it when you read it. LOTS of questions are gonna be answered, but not all of them ;)
How often do people like seeing teasers and stuff of books that are yet to come out? I'm genuinely curious, as I have a few moments from my next volume that I'd love to share...๐ #booklovers#bookaddicts
@TrevorArno11864 Oh, believe me, if the first one seemed impressive, I promise the next one takes all of that and amps it up to a thousand with the first *real* look at what peak mana manipulation can be like.
@Hope8Judith Yeah, that's fair. I have a few teasers I wanna put out to see if people like the writing style and stuff of the second book. While not suuuuper drastic, there *has* been a slight change thereof.
