Since Sept. 11, 2001, CONR has served as the lead for Operation Noble Eagle — the ongoing mission to defend the continental United States from airborne threats originating both inside and outside U.S. borders.

NORAD recently executed Exercise AMALGAM MUTE, a no‑notice, live‑fly training event - this time over the Alaskan region - designed to validate rapid response capabilities across the command.

Check out the speed, precision and professionalism with which Alaskan NORAD Region assets quickly launched and conducted a successful intercept of an airborne track of interest as simulated by #USAF C-21 aircraft.

On Saturday night, July 18, members of #NORAD and US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) joined thousands of spectators for the annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. Designated as NORAD and USNORTHCOM Night, the event celebrated Western heritage while highlighting our commands' deep connection to the Colorado Springs community and a longstanding tradition of military appreciation.

In both defense and rodeo, fractions of a second make all the difference. While NORAD stays ready to respond in moments to aerospace threats, we enjoyed observing the tactics with which rodeo competitors carefully time their runs to avoid painful 10-second barrier penalties.

But some barriers are better broken, as occurs when bringing local military and civilian community together – the true highlight of the night.

Thank you for a fantastic evening, #PikesPeakorBust organizers, and to everyone who came out to show their support!

NORAD F-16s intercepted multiple general aviation aircraft today that violated temporary flight restrictions over Bedminster and East Rutherford, NJ. All aircraft were safely escorted out of the area by NORAD aircraft.
