VERY UNPOPULAR OPINION: it’s nearly IMPOSSIBLE for a woman with children to work 40+ hours a week, run a household, cook, care for her kids (and often her partner), and still protect her own physical and mental health. that’s why so many women feel like they’re constantly on the edge of burnout.
it’s a system built for failure, yet society expects women to excel in every role without complaint. the pressure is overwhelming. the support is minimal. women are expected to be everything, provider, caregiver, homemaker, emotional anchor... without ever being asked, “are you okay?” and when they fall behind, they’re made to feel like they’re not trying hard enough. like they’re failing at work. failing at motherhood. failing at life.
it’s not that women lack strength or ability. it’s that the structure is designed to drain them. the idea that women should “do it all” and do it flawlessly is unrealistic, damaging, and cruel. rest becomes a privilege. self care becomes selfish. mental health becomes an afterthought. and then people wonder why so many women are exhausted.
I actually don't want to climb any corporate ladders. I don't care about job titles. I don't need accolades.
I just want to have income to fund my lifestyle, not be depressed, help other people, and be around good humans.
Movie Theaters are communal art spaces. We need communal art spaces! Go the movies, the theater, the concert, the museum, the art gallery and talk to people about it afterwards. Don’t let the tech guys convince you otherwise.
