I was unreasonably annoyed and angry. I don't know what came into me. It just feel not right. After declutter, organise and cleaning, it felt so much better. I guess what i need was a change in environment. And some exercise.

Medical Officers Forced to Pawn Gold, Make ASB Withdrawals to Relocate for Permanent Posts

Dr Liza (pseudonym) – a UD43 contract medical officer (MO) who received a permanent position – says she had to pawn her gold for RM3,000 and withdraw RM1,000 from her ASB account to cover the cost of her relocation from KL to Sabah by July 31.

The 30-year-old doctor, whose take-home pay is about RM4,000 monthly, estimates at least RM5,000 expenses for her transfer:
🔵Cargo flight to bring her car over: RM2,000
🔵House rental: around RM1,000 a month for a two-bedroom flat (landlords may ask for rental deposit worth up to 5 months)
🔵Personal flight ticket: RM400
🔵Daily car rental: minimum RM120 (pending arrival of her car in Sabah)
🔵Accommodation costs pending moving into her rented place

Dr Liza, who's currently working at a klinik kesihatan in KL, says two to three of her female MO friends in their early 30s, who are also working in the Klang Valley, have similarly pawned gold and made ASB withdrawals for their transfers to Sabah for permanent posts.

“I’m just waiting for my pay to come in. This is a very embarrassing situation, but it’s reality. One of my [MO] friends only has RM30 left in their bank account.

“Our title is ‘doctor’, but we’re actually B40.”

Sambal nasi lemak, resepi turun temurun:

- Tumis 3 sudu bawang merah kisar sampai naik bau wangi.

- Masukkan 3 sudu besar ikan bilis yang dah dikisar. Kacau bagi sebati, jangan hangit.

- Masukkan 7 sudu besar cili kering kisar. Kalau nak pedas, masukkan lagi cili kisar tu. Saya tak nak pedas sangat.

- Masukkan 3 sudu besar gula melaka yang dah dihancurkan. Kacau sebati dan biarkan ia masak. Api tu jangan besar dan jangan kecik, just nice.

- Dah nampak sambal tu merah berkilat, masukkan 5 sudu kecil garam dan 7 sudu besar air asam jawa. Kacau dan biar ia mereneh.

- Apabila sambal dah mula pekat, masukkan 2 sudu besar gula putih dan 2 helai daun pandan. Kacau dan biarkan ia masak lagi.

- Setelah 20minit ia masak, dah boleh tutup api dan hidangkan.

InsyaAllah sambal nasi lemak cara saya ni tahan untuk beberapa hari dengan suhu bilik.
