i am not a teacher (yet) but finished a year and a half of a fellowship. i just had a third grade group who can't even read sight words. the entire semester i worked with them 3 hours a week and three months later, they can't even read a sight word. im terrified.

there's a serious education crisis for K-12 and nobody is talking about it. the kids are not okay. the r/teachers subreddit makes me sick to my stomach. These are only focused on academics as well. The behavioral issues are beyond.
