No mention of the highjacking of the airplanes that were flown into the World Trade Center. No mention of murder or terrorism or who was responsible. Just a benign statement that a few thousand people died that day. He seems to imply they died of natural causes.

Consider how carefully Mamdani wrote his post about 9/11. He chose ‘died’ instead of ‘murdered’ and the particular phraseology of the post because he must have been concerned about offending his base. There is no other credible explanation.

Think about that. Who is the base that he is concerned about offending?

What New Yorkers would be offended to calling out the terrorists and terrorism of 9/11?
