Fathers day is almost...I can't wait to see ladies post"To us who stepped up as Fathers" yet Ironically no man has ever posted "To us who stepped up as Mother's during Mother's day"
As Chairperson of the Parliamentary Service Commission, I chaired the inaugural meeting of the 10-member Board of Trustees of the Members’ Post-Service Medical Scheme, marking a significant step towards safeguarding the long-term welfare of both current and former Members of Parliament.
In my keynote address, I noted that many Members face harsh realities after leaving Parliament, underscoring the urgent need to restore and protect their dignity through structured post-service support mechanisms.
The meeting, which also served as an induction for the Board, featured briefings by professionals drawn from various fields associated with post-retirement medical schemes.
The experts guided the trustees on the applicable policy and regulatory environment, as well as the operational, financial, and governance frameworks essential for the effective and sustainable management of the Scheme.
The Board of Trustees comprises: Hon. Tom Joseph “TJ” Kajwang’, CBS, MP (Chairperson); Sen. Okong’o Omogeni, CBS; Hon. Rachel Ameso, CBS, MP; Sen. (Rtd) Stewart Madzayo, EGH; Hon. Samuel Chepkonga, MP; Hon. CPA Mary Emaase, MP; Sen. Esther Okenyuri; Hon. Gabriel Kago, MP; Mr. Samuel Njoroge, CBS; and Mr. Jeremiah Nyegenye, CBS.
