@ciphergoth@wil_da_beast630 Not everyone has it, not curable but also not a problem. It's an extremely mild condition. I've had it for over a decade. It's like getting a weak mosquito bite once a year or so.
The only "real" problem is the sigma.
@robert342176@fool2theworld yea, that's probably a more relevant factor than what I said. You can see it in the numbers too but, for example, comparing how many baby are born the day before Thanksgiving vs on Thanksgiving. Or how many are born during regular business hours vs overnight.

@sleepy_devo@BananaJuju_ Pride(tm) as a movement is distinct from homosexual as a concept. One can be against the Pride movement and completely fine with homosexuality without contradiction.
@pammalamma@NathanpmYoung People of any race can speak any dialect. You don't have to hide your race, I never claimed otherwise. It's just weird to be constantly injecting your race in where it's irrelevant.
I don't care what race the person who gave me a thumbs up on slack is.
Available information is the difference. Makeup is made to match skin tone, but the skin tone is already visible upon seeing the makeup.
Emojis are made for digital communication where others presumably can not readily see the skin tone of the speaker. It's the difference between "I like what you said, here is as thumbs up" and "I like what you said, here is a thumbs up (and btw this is coming from a [black/white/other] race of person and that's important)".
@pammalamma@NathanpmYoung The thing to be mad about (if anything) would be the culture that suggests using the racially segregated emojis is the morally positive thing to do.
@F_Vaggi@ciphergoth I'm treating my BTC as a sort of retirement fund. I believe "digital gold" was one of the largest original selling point, and it's serving a similar purpose as gold would to me.
I do agree that it's not been shown to be useful as a currency.
Feels like hindsight bias. Like when you see you would have completed the straight in your poker have, had you called the bet.
In this example it would have been profitable to pick stocks, but how often is that true? Do you think rationalists would have invested in Theranos before the Elizabeth Holmes' lies were uncovered?
