We’re all normal to ourselves. I write. Hates hustle, loves shiny objects. Can’t even influence an ant. Anthropology & sociology graduate. Author of books.
This isn't even satire.
They get so angry about the Disabled and Chronically Ill talking about what they go thru.
They claim we make it our entire life.
Almost like if it affects us every day of our life...
I still applied, of course. It’s only a few months work but looks decent enough & from the job description it’s all paperwork so they should have no issues with me working from home.
Case study on how much places care about their inclusion programs:
I'm on an email list that lets me apply for internal jobs somewhere that l'm not a staff member.
They sent out an email just before 5pm with a job that closes today.
I was feeling, then I forced myself to do an hour of easy job applications (the ones where you barely need to click a few buttons or type a few words to apply) & now I feel miserable and passionately hate every one and thing.
Yeah, I’ll find something better to do this afternoon
@JennyStiven If you want to write to Amazon MGM Studios directly (ATTN: Peter Friedlander), please be respectful and specific. Give them every reason to think the decision was strategically wrong - not that Stargate fans are toxic and shouldn't be listened to.
@urbanmel That’s why I keep that link open! (Though it used to be easier to link directly to the comparison page, they changed their website.) You can read the theory all you want but that comparison really lays it out clearly & in not many words.
Thate it when disability orgs ask you to agree to the social model of disability. I think of that as a bit backwards, I prefer a human rights/holistic type model. I know it's what the government uses and therefore underpins funding,
@urbanmel This is the “101” page I usually give people

The link on the page “how do the four models compare in practice” is a good one for a tired brain.
@Kerry2theLeft@criprights Of course, the magical stuff they think exists but somehow never have to confirm exists.
In related news - maybe a unicorn could be a support worker for me… more chance of that than me ever getting the supports I need.
