Who are these 'Essex Leaders"? Councillors? Or senior employees toeing the line coming from Whitehall.
If it's Councillors, identify yourselves please.
@Essex_CC Tell David Finch we don't want Tier Two, we don't want tighter restrictions, we want all restrictions gone & our lives back. All for a disease that takes people on average at age 82 against a UK life expectancy of 81. Way out of proportion & the govt has its head in the sand.
CIoJ President Tim Crook says: ‘Sir Harold Evans received the Institute’s Gold Medal because he was a leader & giant of journalism in standards, professionalism, & its role in democratic life. He believed journalists should hold power to account & was the best in doing so.
I want to know when will the Labour party stand up for the workers effectively locked out of their workplaces? People call it a lockdown. It sounds better but it's a lock out by a despotic govt. I recall the days when this injustice aroused passion in the Labour party.
Mail online reports: "Google and Facebook will be forced to pay news companies for their content under new laws proposed in Australia - with media bosses declaring: 'Their free-riding days are over. ’” See:https://t.co/QAFMnNGiaC
We are housing 48,000 illegal migrants all over the UK, costing the taxpayer more than £4bn over 10 years.
Brexit Party Leader @Nigel_Farage went to Bromsgrove in the West Midlands to investigate.

CIoJ will not forget that respected Al Jazeera journalist Mahmoud Hussein will be serving 1,309th day in Egyptian prison today- without charge or trial and suffering gross violation of his human rights. @CIoJournalist calls for his immediate release. https://t.co/O73gC6TslE
It may not be perfect, but the UK is probably the most tolerant country in the world. If it were not, why would so many people of colour want to come here, illegally, from all over the world?
The thing about the #fawltytowers episode with the Germans is that we’re not laughing at them, we’re laughing at Basil. It is ridiculing prejudice, not glorifying it, and in so doing exposing the narrow-minded bigotry of the thing. It should be required viewing, not banned.
Anyone who does not agree with Sadiq Khan is now described as "far right" by him - arguably the worst elected Mayor in the UK. Although Marvin Rees in Bristol comes a good second for that title. Both ignore violent mobs and criminal damage
Your ancestors certainly suffered but you've benefitted from their suffering. Instead of living here - with decent facilities, reasonable standard of living you could be in a sad West African land, poor, no clean water or reliable power. Maybe you are enjoying reparations now.
My piece in today's @guardian
I am a direct descendant of one of Bristol's biggest slave traders, as well as the slaves he shipped to work on the Caribbean plantations that made him rich.
It's time we spoke about reparations.

Guardian editorially supported the confederacy in US civil war ✅
Opposed Proclamation of Emancipation ✅
– that declared “all persons held as slaves ... are, and henceforward shall be free”
Funded by cotton merchants who profited from slavery ✅
Opposed cotton workers strike ✅
Looks like we need to close down the Guardian, which supported the South in the US civil war, attacked Lincoln, and railed against anti-slavery strikes in Manchester. https://t.co/HME1rvCgbV
European Convention on Human Rights. Article 8 - the right to respect for family and private life. Has any bright legal spark looked at whether the Lockdown suppression of our rights breaches Article 8?
Quick visit to Rayleigh Station this evening to witness the first test run of a new @greateranglia Class 720 on the Southend Victoria line. Glad to see testing begin finally 👍 @Richard_rail @BombardierR_UK
