NEW: Bandcamp United confirms layoffs disproportionality hit union members. No one on the bargaining team was kept by Songtradr and two thirds of of union eligible engineering staff were laid off.

"it is tremendously disappointing to see Epic and Songtradr discard that work"

[Chris Norman @normtronics]

@msft4startups I am trying to apply, but it looks like the ability to apply via Linkedin isn't working. I am getting a 503. How else can I apply?

[Chris Norman @normtronics]

@soundxyz_ I’ve been trying to get API keys to play around with your APIs for an idea I have. It’s been over a week and still haven’t gotten them. Who can I speak to about this?

[JOE KAY @joekay]

keep sharing your vision even if it feels like u shared too much content already.

half the time people don’t even see everything bc the algorithm.

if you believe in your work, stay consistent with it.

I have been signed to since I was 13. I’m 25 now which basically means I’ve racked up 12 years of debt. I have never made a penny off of my own music. 100 million streams with all money made going to my label. This is pretty standard practice in most major label contracts

[Chris Norman @normtronics]

I need to figure out how to get that @NI_News sponsorship

Crazy, glad I didn’t get that job at Bandcamp. I can’t be apart of something like this

[Philth Spector 🌧️🌧️🌧️ @Philth_Spector]

Just a heads up to all the #beatmakers. Bandcamp can delete your entire page without warning on first copyright “suspicion”. I got hit for a Christmas beat tape using some movie clips.

@elonmusk Apple disallowed almost anything related to Covid, especially vaccines or human origins of the virus.

We had to build a list of over 20 terms to not show results for, only on Apple devices.

Apple also later rejected us because users included Pepe images in videos.

Making music is easy, releasing vulnerable music to the public for millions to listen to is where it gets hard.

These sketches are various song ideas I can up with and made a little video to it.

What’s great about this NFT series is if someone buys one, they will get software engineering consulting from me for a year.

Check them out by clicking the link in my bio!

I’ve decided to drop my hat into NFTs and am working on putting up some NFTs from some of my final days of living on Oakland before moving to LA. The series is called, “Black Man Sketches” and was inspired by the “Femme Sketches” @IAmRubyMountain created.
