Sur le papier, la vague de chaleur de juin 2026 pourrait rivaliser avec les épisodes les plus marquants jamais observés en France, dont celle de 2003.

Si des températures de 40 à 43+°C semblent désormais très probables dimanche et lundi, l'incertitude demeure pour la suite. Les modèles hésitent encore entre :
➡️un net recul de la chaleur dès mardi
➡️ou, au contraire, une prolongation de la canicule durant une bonne partie de la semaine prochaine. Certaines régions pourraient dépasser les 38-40°C pendant une semaine... !

Si ce scénario se confirme (et c'est actuellement le plus probable) la France pourrait connaître la canicule la plus intense jamais observée. Non seulement des centaines de records mensuels pour un mois de juin seraient battus, mais certains records absolus de chaleur, tous mois confondus, pourraient également être menacés.

Les sols étant beaucoup plus secs que lors de la canicule de mai 2026, les impacts agricoles et forestiers risquent d'être beaucoup plus vastes et dommageables. J'en ferai un point dès demain.

Constant Israeli artillery fire on the outskirts of the city and drones flying overhead, the situation remains extremely volatile here in Nabatieh.
Despite the US-Iran interim agreement, Israel has said it will not withdraw from southern Lebanon. Its troops are only a few kilometres from the city.

Nabatieh was subjected to intense Israeli air strikes during the war. It’s is now safer, so we could see the massive scale of the destruction, which includes the historic heritage souk.

The city remains uninhabitable: there is no running water, electricity or telecommunications network.

🚨 Le refoulement par Israël de la journaliste Alice Froussard est proprement scandaleux.

Reporting from the historic city of Tyre for @TheNationalNews. We saw clear damage at one of the archaeological sites, where wreckage was scattered among ancient Roman ruins and a column had been broken by an Israeli strike on Sunday. The attack targeted, and completely obliterated, a heritage house just a few metres away.
The area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, which legally protects landmarks or areas legally because of their “outstanding value to humanity.”

New footage obtained by B’Tselem uncovers the moments when the Abu Haikal family was shot. Seven-month-old Sam Abu Haikal was killed in the shooting, and both his parents were injured. The footage clearly shows that the Israeli soldier fired at the car as it was slowing to a stop. The car was far from the soldiers and posed no danger to them whatsoever.

Moments later, in another video obtained by B’Tselem, seven-month-old Sam’s father, Fahed, is seen just after his son was shot. Fahed is holding baby Sam in his arms, trying to stop the bleeding from his head with his hands, while Sam’s mother, Daniyah, who was also injured by the gunfire while holding her son, is seen sitting on the ground, next to the car.

Last Friday, 5 June, an Israeli soldier fired at a Palestinian family driving home from a family visit, as they sat in their car in the Tel Rumeidah neighborhood in Hebron. The family was shot as the car was slowing to a stop at the soldier’s command. Sam, a seven‑month‑old baby who was in his mother’s arms in the back seat, was struck in the head and pronounced dead shortly afterward. Sam’s parents were also injured by the gunfire; his mother is still in the hospital. After the shooting, the soldier who fired and another soldier who was with him left the scene without checking the car or offering any assistance to the critically wounded baby or to his mother.

In the past two and a half years, Israel has killed tens of thousands of children in Gaza and the West Bank. The immunity it gets from the international community has led to a reality where, under Israeli rule, Palestinian lives are entirely disposable – even a seven‑month‑old baby.
