Congratulations to long standing volunteer Richard Russell (and Gemma of course!) who got married on Saturday. NTSR was well presented on the day too! ๐คตโโ๐ฐ๐๐
Who's ready for a #ThrowbackThursday?
Today we see Peckett Ashington 5, in its first preservation home - the North Norfolk Railway. It is seen here in the striking Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway's Golden Ochre livery.

@ChimeWhistle It remains a ambition, the platform is sadly not in a great spot, but the trackbed and drainage are in place still. As is the LRO. So definetly not outside the realms of possibility.
Its #ThrowbackThursday, this time we see RSH 7683 Meaford No1, is seen with a train at the newly opened Percy Main station๐
๐ธThe second view shows work on the extension- with 'California Sidings' platform under construction. This phase of the extension was sadly not completed.
We have some very exciting events coming up this year! ๐
Here is a little visual reminder of the wide variety of events the association is bringing you in 2026.
Even though we aren't running trains at the moment, the work never stops!
A group of volunteers have been replacing sleepers. This is important work to make sure the track is in gauge ready for the running season
We always need volunteers, to help visit https://t.co/WVdtkJH3A7
The P Class or J27 was the most common class based at Percy main shed
๐ Our photos today show two of this class in use on our line, one at Percy main shed and another crossing a very rural Middle Engine Lane
We welcomed the last survivor for our 30th anniversary gala!
We've got some brilliant events lined up throughout 2026! But did you know you can join our trains at Percy Main on any running day?
Just a five minute walk from the Tyne & Wear Metro station - its so close, our trains even travel under the Metro as these views show!
Its #ThrowbackThursday but we aren't going back too far this time. Our hugely successful Railway200 gala saw every avaliable locomotive in use (plus a visitor too! ๐ซ)
Here is the steam lineup at the end of the gala weekend!
Our 2026 event diary will be published soon! ๐
Over our Railway 200 Gala we got a chance to recreate one of the photos from E4's working life. ๐ธ
Joe and Rob were the drivers on E4 over the weekend. And they took the opportunity to mirror this photo from the end of its career at Harton.
