This spring, North Cedar FFA students planted soybeans on the east half of the plot and, following the alfalfa harvest, made the decision to plant soybeans on the west half as well.

The North Cedar Varsity Baseball team came out to support the North Cedar 5th and 6th grade Baseball players during their Pack the Park event.
The younger Knights delivered an impressive win, and the varsity players enjoyed cheering them on!
Before the school year came to a close, Ms. Jackson’s 3rd grade class enjoyed a field trip to the Dubuque Mississippi River Museum. It was a fun day of learning!
Our Knights had an incredible 2025-26 school year filled with achievements, memories, and moments to celebrate. Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for making this year so special. Your support and school spirit made it one to remember. Have a great summer!
An exciting day on the track for Clancey VanOort. He finished 5th in the state in the 400 with a PR of 50.17 and qualified for the finals in the 100 and 200!

In early April, we launched “Mystery Books” in the library, where students could check out a surprise title with the expectation that they would share a Book Talk after finishing it.

Lowden School Library has added a fun twist with “mystery books!” Students choose a book based only on its genre, then share a “book talk” after reading. For Poetry Month, Mrs. Rouse also challenged staff to check out a mystery poetry book to read aloud to their students.

Our National Honor Society induction ceremony was held March 5. We welcomed new members Isabella Dohmen, Cadence Horman, and Piper Rottman, and recognized our seven graduating seniors for their leadership and dedication.
Ms. Green’s 2nd graders had a blast building wooden tow trucks! This hands-on project let them practice measuring, assembling, and problem-solving while having fun creating their own mini vehicles.
During National School Breakfast Week, we celebrate kids who eat breakfast at our schools with the chance to win a prize. Our first winner of the Quest for Breakfast daily prize giveaway is Vydia!!
8th grade science students dove into their fossil lab, creating and examining different types of fossils. Using models, they explored how fossils form and identified whether they were making a mold, cast, trace, or body fossil.
