@SwanWang7 Markeitng campagines tend to build on peer pressure and our consumption culture. It's pretty pathetic that lipstick gets to be who we are beyond lifestyle presentation. Are we enjoying the product per se or are we being brainwashed to pursue what the media want us to be?#ARIN2610
@ChaiZiang cuz a lot of the times user info is sold, by sold I mean the digital media privatizes the lived experience of the user, for (e.g.taste-identifying)analysis. Our needs are satisfied but it‘s sad that we're not being respected for the right and controls of sovereignty in cyberspace
@ZixinWang2411@tzha0516 @aluzzhou I found that that on Uber's official website they have got a page that specifies guidelines for the safety of women passengers. Uber is committed to eliminating any kinds of discomfort, so I think they should be ok to follow the same regulation as the taxi company.#arin2610
@gaodai2 I agree🤝emojis can be misleading sometimes becuase we interperate it differently. It might not accurately express what we trying to say~ #ARIN2610
@ZixinWang2411@Christi46206116 A lot of times the portrayals of the female have being highly sexualized on media and in some way it objectifies them. So that means, we ignore the fact that it's not about the content posted, but the sexism/criticism surrounding this specific group of ppl. #arin2610
@Caterina_jingyu I was reading the article one day and the author was saying that when search professional hairstyle on Google image, the results tend to portray black women as being 'unprofessional'...#what does it mean to say an algorithm is racist? #arin2610
@Caterina_jingyu In my markeitng class, we actually did a research on students's engagement on offline and in-person learning. We found out that more than half of students say they can be easily distracted by the surrodnings and indeed their cell phones😂
why discriminating? why judging? why complaining?
Not point of jumping up and down with pointless hatred&anger&jeslousy..Stop the endless nagging🪂 free yourself, just give it a chance.
@LinxiangW I like how you say that all things has its reason for existence but I feel like some of the traditional media have been digitalized or have changed their main focus.I wouldn't say that it can be a substitution for any kind but definitely indicates a shift in the format.#ARIN2610
@Caterina_jingyu yep! There are so many aspects we can look on things and often difficult to distinguish right from wrong. However we should, as a moral person always make the ethical choices based on our understanding of the world. #airn2610
I personally think that objectivity-depends on how the user perceives the issue and sometimes it can be an illusion that we simply place ourselves into a set of beliefs/opinions. Talking about the media it is also difficult to determine how/why such bias happened.#arin2610
When purchasing products or services online, how likely would you review that product/service? I don't always do this, but I go through the reviews and then decide if I'm gonna buy a product. In this sense, I feel how tech makes consumers’ voice significant. #arin2610
@LinxiangW The changes to section 230 hopefully wouldn't affect the minority groups negatively- exploiting their civic rights that are likely for them to become (or close to becoming) marginalised #arin2610
@gaodai2 There is still a long way to go...I am very lost sometimes to divergent public views. Not only we need to distinguish the authenticity of the info but also the ability to make the ethical and unbiased judgements #arin2610
towards the end of the #Election2020 a lot of misinfo emerged online. This is a good way of enegaing the audience to be netural and stay clear of fake news.
#arin2610 wise choice
Facebook and Instagram posts from the candidates will bear notifications directing people to the Voting Information Center. Here’s what to look for…

quite interesting: I saw ppl still use this app despite knowing the fact that this could be a threat to personal infomration such as location, IP.... I guess out of curiosity
Only a small number of users will carefully read the terms and conditions of the application. Developers also use this to put a lot of unsafe requirements on the terms. This is undoubtedly a dangerous operation.#arin2610 https://t.co/sfilpwas9u via @Code List
@ChaiZiang I like you used the word' trade'😄 we are trading with the service providers in exchange for that opportunity to surf online. A revelation of company's capitalism which apparently we are not being compensated with equivalent value as compare to the profits generated from us.
@Elaine74946229 Part of the reason the company exploited the algorithm to the target audience is to generate a large amount of profits from pay-on-clicks advertisement, but the system also aims to provide the best possible result. So,I think this is hard to make a choice in between
