We sent Sophia Cárcamo to try to break the school record in the 10k down to LA where she did just that running at the back of a small race but coming in two minutes ahead of the school record. A brave feat to tackle the most daunting 25 lap race

You’d think we were done with our amazing Northgate XC season, but there’s more! Nick & Sammy were a great one two punch today taking 1st and 2nd in the Walnut Creek Half Marathon. Megan & Macey were 4th and 6th overall getting 1st and 2nd in their age group. Congratulations!!!

Northgate alum Julia Vasquez just ran an Olympic-qualifying time at the California International Marathon in Sacramento. Congratulations Julia! It’s been exciting to see your successful journey back to running.

Great day for our Boys. They finish 7th out of 22 with Robert coming in 11th and moving on to State. Nick finishes just a few seconds back in 14th and unfortunately just misses going. Fiercely competitive by all of the guys. So proud at how they stepped up for the big race.

Great racing by our Bronco Girls. The team finishes 3rd and moves onto State in Fresno on Sat. They set a Northgate team record with a total time of 96:07.0. Megan comes in 8th and sets a new Northgate record (18:22.3) and Gabi moves to a tie with Ella in 5th all time.(19:06.0)

Our Bronco XC teams are ready for NCS action on Saturday. Come cheer them on at Hayward High. Girls at 11:40 and Boys at 1Pm. Arrive early for parking. Get tickets:

A lot of big performances at the DAL Championships for individuals and our teams. For our Bronco boys, the Frosh Soph finish third, our JV get 2nd and our varsity finish 7th.

Bronco girls place 2nd in frosh Soph, 2nd in JV and 2nd in Varsity. Great performances on a perfect racing day at the DAL Championships.

Sometimes you take pleasure in running the trails. Sometimes you give back to the community by improving the trails. Sometimes you take pride in doing both. Great day of learning the course and cleaning up at Hidden Valley Park. Thank you Broncos for all sweat and smiles.

This year’s Northgate Alumni Race Award Winners: Top Middle School Division. Top Male - Giovanni, Top Female - Maren. We are patiently awaiting for them to become Broncos, but until then they are welcome every Summer to run with us.

This year’s Northgate Alumni Race Top Frosh/Soph: Top Male - David Makedonsky, Top Female - Carmen Urmson. Both use Summer and Fall to build their strength for their shorter distances in the Spring. David runs mid-distance and Carmen is a hurdler.

After the mileage t-shirts were celebrated, the runners took on the challenge of the Donut DMR. Eat a donut then race a hard DMR. A typical 1200-400-800-1600 Distance Medley Relay. The more veteran runners took on the longer runs and the newer runners ran the shorter distances.

Congratulations to more Mileage Monsters!! So proud of Greyson, Topher and Lucy reaching 100 miles, Sophia, Megan, Phillip and Robert for reaching 200 miles. Sammy is at the top with 300 MILES! Amazing.

As a coach, I always promoted the @nhsbroncos sports med department led by the great Glen Barker and his sports Med team. This is a huge opportunity for Ps (a) to fund a great educational program (b) help support our student athletes. IMO, the most important class @NorthgateHS
