@vbspurs When dad and I were in London one year, he went to a pub where the FA Cup final was being shown. When he got back to our hotel room he made mention of a man in the pub carrying a pink umbrella with Manchester United on it.
@NaomiSky_15 Charles should have been paying attention when the centenary commemorations for QEII were on in April. Even four years after her passing there is still a deep affection for her. It hasnโt automatically transferred to him, and he can throw any goodwill away.
@EiseleRonald01 402 โCity of Winnipegโ Sqn RCAF. As a Winnipegger Iโm delighted the BBMFโs Spitfire AB910 is currently painted in 402 Sqn markings as those are her authentic markings on D-Day
@vbspurs I loved that documentary, Elizabeth at 90. I used to be able to find the uncut version on YouTube but it may have been pulled. There are clips out there.
Of course I downloaded a copy for my library.
@vbspurs I like the story of the newly-married Duchess of York being late for dinner with the ever-punctual King George and Queen Mary. She was expecting a rocket, but the King was rather smitten by her and tactfully suggested that they may have sat down early.
@unreMARKLEble Compare that to when the mascot took a nibble on the Queenโs bouquet.
She scolded him, but I doubt she was upset.

@RichardIIIGhost@ShouldHaveRabit Reminds me of a chickadee that got so impatient with me being too slow to fill the bird feeder for his liking that he jumped into the bag and took the bird seed directly.
@KealaniSmith@RoyalCentral That was John Warren, her racing manager, who had every reason to be as excited as his boss. Warren had the rarest of privileges, he could call the Queen directly (the only other person who could do that was the Princess Royal).
