there were brief stretches that were genuinely interesting and fun, but for the most part, it was puzzling and hard to believe. overall, it fell short in delivering the femme-fatale tale i was hoping to witness.

i desperately wanted to know more from them as well for some reason. maybe because it was never brought up to what extent the people around eva and isabel knows. i also wanted more of what was left unsaid or those no one said aloud.

this book did what other romance stories i have read was not able to do to me (complimentary). god, my heart. i'm a mess. the overall feeling i had after is grief for something/someone non-existent.

the last confrontation falls short, it's hard to take it as it is — like it happened yet doesn't feel resolved. i loved the build up of isabel's relationship with other characters (brothers, neelke) but at the same time, i think it lacks closure.
