@skinnyprinsess i speak 5 languages & also have seizures which affect speech output, & sometimes i need a little extra time to speak without making it unnatural/tell people i’m not done. filler words work fantastic for this. does this mean i suck at every language i know? no, obviously.

@skinnyprinsess actually— (that’s also a filler word, surprise!) the usage of filler words can show a better sense of social acuity and knowledge of how to keep a conversation flowing without making it awkward for the other person. this take is also bad bc of disabilities 2/?
