Danmachi Season 4 is easily one of the best experiences I've ever had with a fantasy adventure Anime
And Season 5 was the amazing followup it needed to solidify that
Season 6 being announced still feels unreal to me
Due to Fate Strange Fake a lot of people are confused on where to start watching Fate.
The best way to get into Fate is to just read the VN. There's no confusion and many of the adaptions omit a lot of content, change or censor things.
But if you're dead set on only watching the anime—
Here's a guide for both Fate and Type-Moon in general.
—————————————————
FATE TLDR: Stay/Night 2006 → Unlimited Blade Works → Heaven's Feel → Zero → Strange Fake
—————————————————
WHY THAT ORDER?
The VN consists of three routes. Fate route, UBW route and HF route. These were split into 3 adaptations because all 3 are around 25 hours long and were meant to be experienced in that order, they all build off each other.
WHY NOT START WITH ZERO?
Zero is a prequel, but it was created after Stay Night and expects you to have already experienced that story. It will spoil major plot aspects unceremoniously and can ruin major moments of Stay Night.
—————————————————
OTHER TYPE-MOON WORKS?
Fate shares a connected universe with TM's other works, namely Witch on the Holy Night, Tsukihime and Garden of Sinners.
While these other stories can be enjoyed in a vacuum and reading the others isn't mandatory, reading in a specific order will heighten your experience, as you'll understand references or recognize characters you otherwise wouldn't.
—————————————————
THE BEST ORDER FOR GETTING INTO TM?
WOTHN → Tsukihime (OG/Remake) → Garden of Sinners → Fate
WHERE CAN I READ THESE?
WOTHN is available on Steam, PS and Switch, FSN is available on Steam and Switch, Tsukihime remake is exclusive to PS and OG isn't legally sold anywhere, but quite easy to acquire. Garden of Sinners is on Crunchyroll.
