We’ve been portrayed as pimps, prostitutes, hustlers, thieves, gangsters, slaves, and much more for so long that when black people see images that shape a redeeming narrative, we are excited. Black people need to see black people shining.

It’s been my experience that as long as black Christians agree with white evangelicals then and only then can we maintain your respect and admiration.

Yep, and they still won’t overturn Roe v. Wade because the Republicans legislated it.
They still won’t condemn white supremacists and neo-nazis because they sympathize with them.
Religious freedom is critical but it can also be a cover for white nationalism.
As we speak a White Evangelical pastor is preparing an emotional Sunday message on justice with 0 intent on creating any meaningful funding/structural change.

I don’t know the person or people who founded the BLM organization. I do know that the saying Blacks lives matter is a Christian worldview though. Christians are not borrowing this slogan from the world. The world borrowed this truth from the Christian worldview.
