After 666 days, Franco’s incredible race-finishing streak came to an abrupt end today. Following a Safety Car restart, Franco lost control of his Alpine, taking two other drivers with him including his teammate.

A small mistake that snowballed into serious consequences. His first DNF since joining Alpine. What makes it hurt even more is not only the damage to his car and his teammate’s car, but also that Franco had been running in a points-scoring position all the way up until the accident. Franco took full responsibility for the incident, apologising to both his teammate and the team for the damage caused. He was also handed a five-place grid penalty for the next race, meaning he’ll carry the consequences of his mistake with him.

It’s a tough pill to swallow, but mistakes happen. And when you race at the highest level, even the smallest mistake can have major consequences.But Franco is a fighter. He’s bounced back from setbacks countless times throughout his career, and he’ll do it again, learning from his mistake. Vamos, Franco. We’ve got your back, no matter what. 💙
