A UK-based Zimbabwean who called for bombings in Zimbabwe is facing deportation after serving a jail sentence.

William Chinyanga, 54, live-streamed several Facebook speeches in December 2019, criticizing Zimbabwe’s ruling party, Zanu-PF, and encouraging attacks on soldiers and police. The videos were reported to counter-terrorism police, who arrested him at his north London home on February 25, 2020.

Chinyanga admitted to posting the videos during an interview and was sentenced to prison in 2022. After completing his sentence at Wandsworth Prison, he is now set to be deported to Zimbabwe.
