Just when I thought I’d managed my first icy-cycle successfully, my back brake gets stuck and down a hill no less. Managed to haul it the rest of the way, no idea what to do for the way home 😅😞

@ViaTowerBridge Unconfirmed. And dependent on how much of the road is closed, it won’t happen for a while at least and I may have a different job by then. Hopefully the river route will be an option which would add maybe 10 minutes? Haven’t been able to try it yet as it’s been closed for months

So the stopping up of Leeman Road has been given the go ahead… Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for no cars on there anymore. But I’m scared, I don’t know what my route to work will be now, is it longer? Is it safe? Why couldn’t they keep it open to cyclists and pedestrians?

@rachel_melly_ It seems so selfish to cut it off completely. I’m not even against no cars, cars almost knock me off here daily, but now I don’t know how I’ll be getting to work, to town. Is it much longer? Is it well-lit? Is it safe? Would it have been so hard to keep it open for people/bikes?

A car very almost knocked me off on Leeman road this morning. It’s been replaying in my mind all morning, how easily I could’ve been on the cement. Hope the extra couple seconds were worth it

Ending up nosing around York city centre on streetview google maps and it’s from back when driving was still allowed. Seeing the areas around the shambles with lorries, vans and cars on them is 10/10 gross and it seems ridiculous that they were ever allowed there now

I completely forgot to tweet it but yesterday as I watch pushing my bike along a - very - cobbled street, I felt a buzz on my watch and it was congratulating me for washing my hands for 20 seconds
