Technology Guy & Unintentional Smartass, DevRel @Applitools. Long-time enterprise and game dev, working on whatever I feel like and making sure it...works.

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

@HenryWHall @ThatNgonGuy People, noooo! This is the attitude that got us AI.

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

Why is it that people see "right lane closed ahead" and are drawn to the right lane like moths to the flame?

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

Found out I need to vary my takeout orders more.

I have a local Chinese shop I'll order from so I don't forget to eat.

Went in last night and not only did they recognize me and call me by my address, they brought out my order unprompted.

But hey, building a lot of software!

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

@ThatNgonGuy Yes but that was someone else's work hahah

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

@valigo You spelled "years" in a way I'm not familiar with?

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

@ForgotTheSnare @MjTheHunter Nothing?

You can't differentiate your way out of a mediocre person utilizing an immoral technology to reverse engineer your game.

Probably just need to be in it for the love of the game. And if you're lucky enough to find a community, treat it well so they return the favor.

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

Starting to think I talk to myself a lot when I'm alone at home.

Voice is messed up atm so I'm actively avoiding talking, and it occurs to me my apartment is VERY quiet?

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

@johncrickett Kind of a vanity metric on its own, wouldn't you say?

How big are the PR's? What value do they add to the business? How critical is it that they don't cause downtime, performance degradation, etc?

Smart CTO's will adapt their expectations to the needs of the business, no?

[Nicholas Charriere @nichochar]

if you were a software engineer and you don’t feel grief about giving up coding you simply weren’t a good one.

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

Next time I go to the doctor I'm certain I'll be told my blood pressure is too high.

When asked why, I will just say the phrase "You're right, and it's the cleanest option of all."

@ThatNgonGuy @gdangel0 @threejs Elden Fantasy Age: Witch Rim Ring War?

@eeuoss I suppose web dev also doesn't have to worry about drawing millions of pixels to the screen every couple milliseconds?

I love my distributed web projects, but when it comes to the render pipeline, we do what we have to so we can preserve the user experience.

Well, many of us.

[Applitools @Applitools]

Two Andys. One bold claim: QA is ready to run the show.

No, Ms. Flight Attendant, I will be waiting to fasten my seat belt until you say the boarding is complete. Are you TRYING to jinx my open seat??

@pramode_ce It's still crucial for those things to be done well in a codebase, regardless of who (or what) is writing the code.

That said, you all can pry tabs from my cold dead fingers. 😎

[Andrew Male @NotBadSoftware]

@pramode_ce Let's pretend for a moment that we all agree AI "reliably" generates code, fine.

Many of those things still matter greatly. Some were vanity practices, but others were important ways to handle cognitive load and system complexity to allow the software to grow/function.
