NOTED is an art and writing project. That's all.

It's about a character called Don Duffy and it explores stories that young men can relate to.

There is no broader sales pitch right now. We are not working toward some secret reveal.

What we want is to make content that helps people feel seen, and that's what we intend to do.

That's the offer. Take it or leave it.

Don came to New Atlas looking for a break. Since then, he’s been chucked out, slept in a laundromat, carried everyone else’s stories, found a mate, and ended up in lock-up.

A little of my warehouse years shaped the idea for this one.

Customers only see the finished thing. Out back, it’s sweat, noise, lifting and the scramble to make it all look effortless.

There’s a side of work only the workers ever really see. If you know, you know.

One of the sparks for this panel was Billy Joel talking about sleeping in laundromats when he was broke.

That image stuck with me: a rough situation, but also the strange little luxury of warm, clean laundry when you’ve got nowhere better to be.

@Artlv12 then brilliantly brought that idea to life.
