It's telling that the people screaming in our faces that "Not owning digital media doesn't affect preservation at all!" appear to be the same folks who see no issue with Sony auto-closing your account after three years of non-use, and think we're overreacting.

"Skyrim is 15 years old" is already a crazy stat, but if you want it even more put into perspective I encountered an 8th grader named after a Daedric Prince at work today.
PlayStation has altered the deal:
Any digital games purchased after PS5's March system update require an internet connection once every 30 days to validate the license.
If a PS5 stays offline, the games will not launch until a player reconnects.

Sad to see Phil Leave, but the more I read about the new CEO the more it seems like she was looking for a new job rather than being put there by Microsoft. She even said she doesn’t want games to be Ai Slop, the words Microsoft doesn’t want us using about Ai. Let’s wait and see…
Big news from Team Xbox:
- Phil Spencer is retiring
- Sarah Bond resigned
- Matt Booty is becoming Xbox Chief Content Officer
- Asha Sharma from Microsoft CoreAI is named Microsoft Gaming CEO

What’s funny is that people proving that one dev wrong about Morrowind are not the target audience. We are the gamers who DO appreciate it. But we are maybe 20% of total sales. All my casual friends who tried Morrowind HATED the combat despite loving bg3 and other deep systems.
Morrowind would work. But it needs a far bigger overhaul in it’s systems than Oblivion got. I think the success of some modern games with “out there” stories proves Morrowind would work. But it needs work for casual audiences, who are the majority of sales as much as I hate it.
