Nathan Fielder says Elizabeth Holmes called him from prison right before "You Can See Everything" opened in theaters.
“She had not called me in over six months. I had not heard from her in any way… she asked how I was doing. I asked her if she had seen any stuff about the film coming out and how she felt about it. She told me she had seen some stuff, but most things she just isn’t seeing, so she’s heard things, but she hasn’t really read anything. And then, at the end, she said to me – ‘I trust you.’ I said, ‘OK, thanks.’ We talked about some other stuff. She talked about her kids, and then some updates that are not really my place to share. But then after that, she said again, at the end of the call— ‘I trust you.’ And I don’t know what she meant by that.” (via WIRED)

YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING is the most upsetting movie of the year. there is something unexplainable being captured and not even the movie knows what to do with it. horrifically sad at many points. holmes is a reflective object at the center of the digital panopticon
i do not want to spoil anything but somebody says something in You Can See Everything that is so unfathomably evil that i genuinely forgot i was watching a documentary because no way is a real person like that

horror movie of the year. more honest about the nature of filmmaking and art and portrayal and language and love and perception than just about anything i’ve ever seen and instantly one of the most monumental documentaries of the century
