Ep 116 - The Last Post
🍾We did it! We clocked podcasts!
👋For real, we're done for now
🎙️Keep us in your feed though, some of us might upload random shit from time to time
❤️Thanks for all the love and support over the years. You're all smart and good-looking.
This is what "centre left parties" have always said and done. Rudd started offshore processing. Gillard excised the mainland. Cunts, destined for hell, the lot of them
I woke up this morn to the front pages of newspapers saying the Govt was going to increase Newstart (now JobSeeker) by $75/week. Sadly, that didn’t last through breakfast. As more Australians face unemployment during this recession, the Liberals must accept that people need help.
Cash-strapped ANU splurged ~$200K for leadership to attend an exclusive conference for global elite? These people asked hardworking staff to take a pay cut. I think we can all see where the inefficiencies lie. Ego and self interest above the institution. https://t.co/z1XOUgpXIV
Albanese just endlessly shuffling Plibersek from portfolio she wanted (education) to ones where she has to use her progressive cred protect his left flank while getting little done (environment, social services).
How is this ANYTHING other than taking a jab at Labor figures he feels *personally* betrayed by? The genocide started in fucking 2023, this hangdog cunt is just pissy he's been passed over and is petulantly lashing out.
Fucking cowardly to only say this after he loses his frontbench position, still glad he said it though.
It demonstrates that individuals in the Labor party prioritise their lust for power over doing what’s right, but we already knew that.
It is not the Greens job to:
a) Agree with piss weak legislation
b) Be polite in the way you see fit
c) Stick to whatever 'issue' you think they should
I cannot wait to see all of the rust defend Labor when they CHOOSE to team with the Libs in the Senate lol
But the cost of living and housing crises are global and structural.
And economics always has the final word in politics. Albo will end his term hated, and it’ll take the political class by surprise.
If the Left rises to the challenge, Labor won’t come out smug next time.
Do you think Labor’s second term will be one of left reform? Grow up.
Now the ALP has a commanding new base comprised of former Liberal voters. The right is in disarray. And every idiot in the commentariat, from Crikey through to the Age is praising their genius and moderation.
I think it was a really awesome move - morally AND electorally - for The Greens to basically ditch their "end AUKUS" policy in the last weeks of the campaign. No word on whether or not it was because Shoebridge decided to become a champion for weapons manufacturing.
It’s fkn wild the degree of mean-spiritedness Labor is showing towards Greens MPs who just lost, from Albo down to unhinged supporters.
Why? Because over the last three years, the Greens fought harder than they ever have to challenge the status quo that Labor upholds.
Ana Kasparian describes Darryl Cooper's podcasts "very nuanced" and calls Joe Rogan "an intellectually curious person" and that she re-evaluated her past beliefs on Rogan.
The contemporaneous reports from the Warsaw Ghetto are literally identical to what's happening in Gaza now. But tell me again how the Greens deserved to lose because they are against it
