Hermione’s foot caught on the uneven cobblestones. She flailed, catching Draco’s nose with her elbow.
“Oh, god—sorry!” she gasped, already fishing for a handkerchief. “Hold still, you’re bleeding.”
He looked dazed. “That’s the first time you’ve ever apologized to me.”
“Do try to get it straight this time. There’s been a bit of a lean since the last time you broke it.”

“Don’t need it,” she said, gripping his nose with her other hand. “Count of three.”

"Harry Potter! I told you to stop checking that map."
“Yes, but—”
“Lily is fine,” Ginny said, fluffing her pillow. “She’s probably writing one of those mile-long essays Hermione keeps bragging about.”
She bolted upright. “What? Who is it? James? Albus?”
“Worse.”
She leaned forward, spotting not one of her children’s names, but two Professors.
Draco Malfoy.
And Hermione Granger.

Molly knitted them all scarves for Christmas, enchanted to reflect the wearer’s emotions. A nice idea in theory. In reality, it was like a loud, messy friend who kept spilling your secrets.
And she already had one of those in the form of Ronald Weasley, thanks very much.
