To absolutely no one's surprise, the New York Public Service Commission (PSC) ruled last week that "no further review is required" for Boralex to transfer all of its solar leases to Brookfield Asset Management.

Four solar complexes, including Fort Edward Solar, totaling over 13,100 acres of Upstate NY farmland, grassland habitat, and state-endangered species, will transfer to an even larger Canadian company with ties to its current prime minister @MarkJCarney.

Boralex went before the PSC to ask that 1) these leases be transferred without any further review and 2) that the PSC do it quickly.

As happens 100% of the time with the bureaucratic bodies in Albany, NY, the PSC did exactly as these foreign corporations asked and dismissed the legal comments I submitted earlier this month. We also requested that the PSC notify municipalities of this transfer - they declined.

The PSC concluded the transfer:
-would not create horizontal market power
-would not create vertical market power
-would not harm captive utility ratepayers

All seven PSC Commissioners "voted" on this ruling. I put voting in quotations because they were ordered to bend the knee to the same foreign corporations that lobbied for the 2019 Climate Act.

These seven PSC Commissioners are the same people who approve rate hikes on your electric bills.

The PSC Chair and name signed to this ruling: Rory Christian. Are your familiar with the people who are impacting your lives more than your own state representatives?
