What I've learnt recently is that laughing at trans women killing themselves is queer culture, and the funnier you find the idea of dead trannies, the queerer the culture is
I found this desperately sad. People actually have genuinely slashed their energy consumption over the last few years and in return they've received rising bills and lectures from MPs expensing their utility bills taking bungs from companies building useless energy guzzling AI.
@worstofallworld Its only taken a few days but we’ve gone from “RPHS has no bearing on trans people!”
And now it’s developed to “Yeah actually it’d be so fucking funny if these trannies blew their brains out from this, A+ stuff!”
when I was a teenager 10 yrs ago I was far more put off from transitioning by the idea that I would end up looking like a crossie than I was by the idea that I would lose friends and family.
Big problem with a lot of this discourse is how many trans people are saying out loud that this movie’s portrayal damaged their views on trans people and kept them from coming out sooner as a result and the response from its defenders has been “no it didn’t, shut up.”
Haven’t seen Camp Miasma yet but this is more a case of trans people being told they HAVE to reclaim this problematic character and when they say no, the response has been to call them stupid trannies and say “this is why everyone hates you”.
So basically NHS Wales were treating more trans people than average - a good thing - so now trans people are being punished for it, as is the current norm. Just cruelty incarnate. The correct response from the health minister to the Tory would have been fuck off
Im glad i have Twitter to teach me
-dysphoria is fascism
-disliking stereotypes is fascism
-disliking ballroom is fascism
-medicine is fascism
-having institutions is fascism
-painting a minority you dislike as racist misogynist incels is NOT fascism (as long as its trans women)
It's good our political culture is so broken that one person with an obvious ideological agenda writing in The Times can get a load of adults' medical treatments cancelled
@ShatteredSFW Did they actually have any involvement in the decision process? The QueerAF article reads to me like it was a series of "independent" boards and executives primarily staffed before plaid came to power deciding to respond to the Tories themselves.
People always want to act like queer history is absolved from criticism or has only been pure but the second u bring up michfest, suddenly the queer history experts dont know how to respond or handle that info
this whole RHPS discourse should have ended the second this interview was found. like the guy who directed the movie explicitly said “trans women can’t be women they’ll always be weird in-between freaks lol” and people still can’t understand why trans women don’t like his work
