I have to say, I REALLY don't care what 'causes' autism
My interest lies in hearing autistic voices, greater rights, highlighting autistic skills and making sure needs are met
The money ploughed into 'cause' research could fund more advocacy, services and ultimately empowerment
And this from someone doing presentations on autism and the criminal justice system. We need better standards for autism conferences. Of that there is no doubt. So what is the 'intervention' needed? https://t.co/VjkHhyCkYA
"It is not only autistic people who are poor at seeing the world from other people's point of view; we are all poor at Theory of Mind." Phoebe Caldwell.
@CatrionaSScot @EL_Hetherington @autismage @ShonaDav @AnnMemmott @katefoxwriter@milton_damian@SueReviews@Autism I'm all for real allies, but not for organisations that say they are allies, or working "for autism" while ignoring/disrespecting us.
@hanselasper @ShonaDav @autismage @AnnMemmott @katefoxwriter @EL_Hetherington @CatrionaSScot@SueReviews@Autism https://t.co/xriCnpwLEo not a charity (as yet anyway), but looking at doing variety of events in future.
"There is a sense that autistic people can say something for years and it not be taken seriously until a non-autistic pro. says it too." https://t.co/hM7h6rwTUc
@brookewinters33 It doesn't occur to most people that there are autistic people everywhere. That when they talk about autistic people, we can hear them...
